Crazy Grey!
09:41 - By Fredo Fellini - Personal Stuff - no comment
I hung some toys for our pet African Grey "Bebe" and caught him on my phone camera playing around upside down. He spends most of his days hanging like this and it doesn't stop at that :P the things he screams, i'd have never thought so much fun can come out from a parrot...
Swinging Bebe, the African Grey
I'll put up some other videos...

Red Bull Street Style - Ras al Khayma, UAE
13:56 - By Fredo Fellini - Events - no comment
Oh what fun! the Red Bull crew and myself were down @ Ras al Khayma a couple weeks ago for the qualifications for the Red Bull Street Style competition. It was a ton of fun and laughs. We set up the gear and were ready for the free style soccer fans who came to showcase their talents.
We also did Al Ain the week after which was even more intense! It's too bad I had to cut my trip short and miss the Abu Dhabi and this week's Dubai qualifications... obviously the Dubai finals... But it's all fine and dandy as I'm setting my eyes on the RB Air Race which will take place March 2010 in Abu Dhabi Marina
Yours truely on the RB Ram
Here's a little video my long time buddy Roy cooked up
The Al Ain footage.
Until next time

Something new I decided to do
13:35 - By Fredo Fellini - Music - no comment
I decided to start posting tracks that I like, that I'd like to hear more whether old or new, or would like remixed... I'm gonna start with Rex Mundi ft Susana - Nothing at All in the Elevation Mix. Rex Mundi has been hard at work, this guy is effin solid, his repertoire is only getting larger with dance floor nukes! This track has been played by quite the few :D to name a couple I fancy, Armin & Markus.
So without further ado, here it is:
Lyrics:
This morning comes a step too soon
A lonely gaze, and empty room
You’re a far cry
A distant memory
But something inside of me always knew this
I’d be standing here without you
As if nothing’s happened
As if nothing’s wrong
The world seems to move on, the world carries on
I’ll starve for your love, hungry I fall
As if nothing’s happened
Nothing at all
Nothing at all
Nothing at all

Google Doodle - Friday the 14th 2009
09:36 - By Fredo Fellini - World - no comment
Had to post a little something something regarding today's Google doodle. It's regarding the birthday of celebrated scientist Hans Christian Ørsted who was the brains behind the discovery of electro-magnetism. You can read more about him by clicking the Google logo here or by going here, the latter link being the Wikipedia post. Anyhow, I'll go back to why I'm posting this, I actually thought it looked like a pipe bomb or an exploding device of some sort... that is on a first impression basis... Then I realized it's actually a compass and NOT a timing device... LMAO
Here's the Google Doodle in question if you didn't go on the link and obviously when it's no longer Ørsted's birthday :P

I'm out.

Fuel to the fire
08:26 - By Fredo Fellini - World
Part of my daily routine is to go about mainstream media sources and well, see how deep in it we are - compared to yesterday.
The main article that struck me was on CNN. It didn't really strike me like falling off my chair kind of thing, but in a sense that the blame for Middle-East peace is wrongfully placed. It's no longer making sense when, the US, who's always "defended" Israel's right to defend itself and so on, is now being ignored when making "simple" demands. For all these years that Isreal's received countless financial and military aid, you'd expect that the gov would, at least, consider a request by the US. But eventually, the truth of the matter and the intent surfaces. It's been a long standing goal, this continuous construction of settlements, illegal I need to add, will not end. An interesting read at The David Trinh blog voices similar concerns of mine. Indeed, as David states, there's no legitimacy to these claims, to the last of my knowledge, Occupied Territories meant and actually still means illegal occupation. So how is that legitimate?
This anti-Semitism, in my opinion, is an overblown scheme at pitying the Jewish people... But who pities the Palestinians, or the Armenians. Is it that their genocide is not "worthy"? Those with conditions so lamentable, it borders genocide but not just the conventional way... We're not just talking slaughter of the masses, like in Gaza not too long ago - enough that people already forgot the atrocities committed.
My 2 cents on how it's happening
- economically: restricting movement = people can't get to work, no money made on an individual basis but also on a national level as well. Small shops have to close down because of lack of materials getting to them. This also means children can't go to schools which takes me to the next point.
- socially: when you have a nation whose illiteracy rate is soaring, it's definitely not going to end up positively and surely would mean more food for the radicals... is it just me or is Israel completely missing the point? Or maybe it's their goal to give themselves the pretext to mass murder, not that it's not the case already.
I always remember this common say in the Arab world that goes like this, "darabni w baka, saba'ni w shtaka" which translates to he hit me, cried and ran to tell on me. Kind of puts things into perspective.
- biologically: Israel's use of illegal ordinance (also testing new weaponry) isn't only felt during combat - phosphorous and depleted uranium shells - these have long term effects like birth defects and severe illnesses.
Those are the main points I can think of at the moment, reiterating this always sets a sad, downsome mood in me as it's unjust and there's nothing an individual, just one, can do about it. This sense of helplessness pains me because we're on this Earth, we're Humans, it doesn't matter where we came from, what color our eyes or our skin is... We're all the same...
Who am I kidding?

Winamp for President!
15:39 - By Fredo Fellini - Music
I'm posting this in music because that's what it mainly deals with but it works for video and other stuff too...
Winamp can work with your Ipod and that's liberating!!! I've been using this technique for a while now since I have big issues with iTunes and Apple specifically for choke holding their clients.
I've found this tutorial for those of you not so technologically savvy
Hope this will you give you the courage to get rid of that crappy app and convert to WinAmp for your musical needs :D

First Lebanese Proto!
14:38 - By Fredo Fellini - Personal Stuff - no comment
The article's in arabic but i'm translating as follows:
"The Lebanese university Student David Frem drove from Jounieh to Beirut in his concept car that he named Frem F1. Frem said "Everything in the car is Lebanese made, from the engine to the front and back lighting". The car is a final project to earn David his degree and will go under review by the academic committee at the AUST. David explains how he went over the initial 10,000$ budget and spent over 60,000$ in building the car to which he received awards from the ministries of industry and economy."
Good going buddy!

the holidays have passed and thank god, if there is one! letting too much crap into my bubble, this BS has been at its peak this time around and really dreadin the next one. but we got a whole year ahead of us? yeah of hell!
i haven't been posting, not that i was out of time... i'm always out of time... i was just in just a sickened mood, still am.. about whatever the f@#% that's going on (on a multilevel which i care not describe or explain atm) and how everyone just stands there and watches... no will to do anything, to fight for what's right, what's genuinely right... humanity, humility... simply non existent. We live in a fken society of consumer robots indebted to the eye-balls, fed genetically modified-the-f#@%-out foods, identityless but definitely ID'd, there's a complete loss of individualism, of creativity, of craftsmanship, of the slightest form of thought (PERIOD!)
ah whatever... who the hell cares, right ?
PS: here's an example of a total moron that fits the earlier description...
Check it out
watch the guy who says "i'll buy anything apple".....
at some point the vid, reporter says it took him 45 min to send a 3-4 line email....

Painting is soothing ?!
01:00 - By Fredo Fellini - Ramblings - no comment
I dunno if it's been said before but as my buddy Fred said.. you guessed it! So I pretty much did it all day and well it worked, minus a minor incident somewhere close to when I decided to take a break (to watch Transformers '86! Robots in disguise! YEAH!) What got me to write this... well had I not been soothed, I guess I wouldn't be but there's also the birth of a new era, getting the "studio" set up is long overdue and now with the paint in it's final stages, we shall call her Battle Face and does she have a gorgeous one!
I believe I finally figured it out too! Details will posted at a later stage as this is fitting together nicely (so far!)

The weather & ppl ?
05:24 - By Fredo Fellini - Ramblings - no comment
It's odd that when you break out of the shell and explore, listen, you find that you're not alone... that a population as a whole sinks in dark coldness and withdrawal as the barometer drops in the negative. How the lack of sun and warmth turns one into a mishaps magnet as the odds of having these multiply. But that's when it's so obvious, the presence of human vampires, not blood sucking ones FFS!, energy feeding drainers. I need not go in the details for it is quite easy to spot those who lift you from those who don't. It's also quite simple to spot those on whom you have the feeding or fed effect, if it happens to them, it happens to everyone - deal with it!. I'm no rocket scientist but it seems this kind of human nature/behavior is amplified with the weather. Energy transfers work in both ways, - and +, the repercussions of massive grief/joy go much farther than just the people concerned. So the question is, why would humans put themselves in an environment that won't let them grow - not economically/socially - won't let them grow in the sense that you're confined to more of the indoors for 4-6 months... that's a tragedy for the mind... it DOES suffer, as Humans, we need the sun for a proper chemical balance in our brains... how's it any different than malnutrition? If you think about it scientifically, it simply is malnutrition! The need of vitamin D isn't fulfilled so yeah I'm gonna hear the "but people take supplements". for what? vitamin D? yeah i get that in my centrum, so? You're still not getting the sun and you're missing out on a lot. Moral of the story, none really, you either take it or you don't. you weigh it out and you take a decision after analyzing all the information and research you've accumulated.
There comes a time where you see the picture so clearly , it feels you're in it. I see and feel my picture, do you?

WTF ?
13:37 - By Fredo Fellini - Ramblings - no comment
so you want an update on the whole car BS... here goes, so I spent most of yesterday calling up Volvo dealers and recycling centers to get a hold of the sunroof glass... seems pretty straightforward or at least I thought it would be... The glass alone is 700$ + 4-5 hours of labor at 140$ a pop.... So we're talking about 1260$+tx TO REPLACE THE FKEN SUNROOF! What kind of crookery is this this ? But it's not even over yet! When I thought I'd be spending today looking for the part and getting it installed, I'm actually looking for a garage to repair my steering mechanism as I had an accident yesterday night!
You're thinking "You gotta be kidding me!". That's what I thought too!!! I had almost got to my folks' place (indoor parking for 1 and 2, the window repair shop is next door), literally 60 secs away, I hit a patch of black ice and slid into the curb... Was barely able to drive the car to the garage, driving at 20 clicks an hour and barely able to keep the car straight.... What, another 3 grand to fix?
Talk about bad luck or fken running streak of it... OR simply a case of a bad eye! I don't know what to think anymore! This is beyond comprehension... I'm not this staunch believer in evil eyes and what not but C'mon! too many damn things happening to me that I cannot explain nor can I make sense of.
Pics will be added in an edit, I don't have my D80 on me, so phone pictures (1MP quality) are my only option ATM.
Peace!
